Donating through Crowdfunder

what to expect - English

New Finance_edited.png

Crowdfunder is a UK-based platform, so a couple of things aren't obvious at first glance. Here's a quick guide so you can donate with confidence.

Crowdfunder charges donations in GBP (£), regardless of where you're donating from. These rates are an approximate guide (early August 2026) — edit the rate fields if you'd like to check against today's actual rate before donating.

1. This is an all-or-nothing appeal

If we reach our £33,000 target by 31st August 2026, the campaign succeeds, the funds are released to us, and every donor receives the Nine Gateways app or online course if they choose

Your card or bank is charged immediately when you make your pledge.  If the target isn't met by the deadline, every pledge is fully refunded — 100% — typically within seven days of the appeal closing.

2. It charges in pounds sterling (£)

All donations are processed in GBP, even though many of our supporters are in the eurozone or the United States. Use the converter above to check roughly how many euros or dollars your intended donation comes to before you start.

3. The listed amount (£10) is just a starting point

Crowdfunder's platform requires us to list a minimum donation of £10 — but that is not the amount you'll actually give. Once you select it, you'll see a separate field where you can enter any additional amount on top, so your total reaches whatever you'd like to give (for example, if you want to give £50 total, you'd add £40 in that field).

4. Watch for the "tip" field

After you've set your donation amount, Crowdfunder will show you a tip field — this is a separate contribution to Crowdfunder itself, not to us, and it's switched on by default. If you'd rather your full donation go to the Peacebuildings Yurt, you can reduce it on the slider or remove it on the "enter Custom tip button"

We know this isn't the smoothest process, especially if English isn't your first language — we hope this guide makes it a little easier.

Thank you for supporting the Peacebuildings Yurt.
